Basic System Troubleshooting

1. SET DEAD NO INDICATORS GLOWING
Check power supply cable no and off switch power supply and power supply output units. Check power supply input cable condition and on and off switch position cable may be internally open or on off switch may be defective. It the input path (Cable and Switch) is normal check power supply condition. The power supply inside may be defective check power supply line filters reliever unit SMPS Out put transistor and transformer and input /output voltage fuse condition.
2. NO DRIVE DETECTION (HARD DISK)
Check hard Disk cable supply and I/o card condition hard disk maybe internally failure or hard disk primary slave jumpers may be miss placed. If the jumpers and hard disk condition is normal check hard disk supply. The hard disk supply may be disconcerted or supply may be absent. If the supply is normal check disk bus cable continuity and condition cable may be internally open or cable connection may be reverse position. If the cable condition and connection is normal check. I/O card condition in card may be miss placed check and replace Io card. If the ID card built in motherboard (PCI Motherboard). Check CMOS setup ID Card address. If the address is normal check ID card If the connectors address and jumpers condition is normal insert New Id card in I/o port
3.NO COMPORTS WORKING
Check compare connections, comport jumpers and ID card Condition check comport connection the Id Comport connections may be in reverse or comport address may be defective in CMOS setup. If the address and connections is normal check I/O card condition. I/o card may be defective or I/O card jumpers may be defective. If the I/O card is built in motherboard check comports address and COM port connection. If the address and connections is normal insert new I/o card in I/O port and disable on board comports in CMOS Setup
4. NO CPT PORT WORKING
Check cpt port cable, Cpt port address bus cable and I/O card condition check Cpt bus cable and I/O card condition check Cpt port cable continuity and condition port cable may be internally fiber or cable may be in reverse. If the port cable is normal check Cpt address in CMOS setup. The address may be defective correct the address. If the address and cable Cpt jumper setting. I/O card Cpt jumper setting may be miss placed or I/O card may be defective. Check and replaced I/O Card.
5. SERIAL AND PARALLEL PORTS DEAD
Check I/O card I/O card jumpers and I/O card jumpers and I/O card condition. Check ports connections port address and port jumper settings port address jumpers setting, may be defective or port cabling may be defective if the jumpers and cabling is normal check and replace I/O card.
6.NO LIGHTING DISPLAY (Information But Beeping Sound is Normal)
Check Monitor, Monitor Supply Cable, Vides display Card and display Card condition. Check monitor indicators or not. If it is not glowing check monitor on and off switch. Monitor supplies cable and monitor power supply port. If the indicators is glowing check video display card connection and condition. The display card connection may be defective or display cable may be internally Faber. If the cable and connection is normal check display card condition. The display card may be loose contact or card may be loose contact or card may be defective or the video display card memory may be failure.
7. FDD IS NOT WORKING
Check FDD Cable, I/O Card condition and supply check floppy disk condition floppy disk may be internally failure or floppy disk primary slave jumper may miss placed if the floppy disk supply. The floppy disk supply may be disk connected or supply may be absent. If the supply is normal check floppy disk bus cable continuity and condition cable may be internally opens or cable connection may be reverse connection if the cable condition and connection is normal check ID card condition ID Card may be defective or ID Card jumpers may be miss placed. Check and replace ID Card if the ID card builder motherboard (PCI Motherboard). Check CMOS Setup ID Card connections. If the connector’s address and jumpers condition is normal insert new ID card in I/O port.
8. NO CD-ROM DETECTION
Check CD-ROM Supply CD-ROM conditions and bus cable and CD-ROM driver’s software check CD-ROM Supply connection. And cable connection. Cable connection may be in reverse or cable connector may be internally failure. If the cable and supply path is normal check CD-ROM Condition, CD-ROM may be internally failure. If the CD-ROM Path is normal check CD-ROM driver software, the driver software may be improper installation or CD-ROM accesses cable Mscde.Exe file may be corrupted (or) autoexec.bat and config.sys files may be defective.
9.MEMORY IMPROPER CHECKING
Check memory and CMOS Setup Check memory condition and socket connection. The memory socket connections may be defective or memory tape may be miss match, If the RAM and Socket connections are normal check CMOS Setup memory prorate check conditions.
10. AUTOMATIC REBOOTING
Check system reset switch, reset jumper and system files condition. The system files may be affected with virus. Check system reset switch. The reset switch may be loose contact (or) Switch may be internally defective. If the switch connections and conditions are normally check reset switch jumper. In motherboard the reset Switch jumper may be in on condition change the jumper connection from reset mode to normal mode. If the reset jumper condition is normal check the system files and software file in the files may be defective seam the all file (including system files) by using and vireos scanning software.
11.SYSTEM HANGING (HALT)
Check system bootable files CMOS setup and motherboard CPU sync fan. Check system files condition. The system files may be affected with virus or Id Sys or MS Dos sys files may be corrupted. If the system files is normal check command.com file areas the command.com Area may be modify scan the all files by a sing any virus scanning software. It the system files and command.com area is Normal check CPU heat sync fan. The heat sync fan may be in not working.
12. FLICKRING INFORMATION
Check monitor connection Supply cable and Monitor control card (display Card). Check monitor signal cables the signal cable may be defective (or) Monitor brightness control may be lose contact. If the monitor and cable condition is normal check input supply cable the input supply cable may be loose contact check and replace supply cable. If the supply path is normal check video display card connections. Check video signal card connected I/O slot. The connected I/O Slot may be loose connection, or the I/O card may be defective check and replace display card. Before replacing the display card check. RAM conditions.
13. SYSTEM NOT BOOTING SYSTEM FILES AND COM FILES IN NORMAL CONDITION
Check hard disk partition tables, CMOS Setup and CMOS setup boot sequence. Check CMOS Setup boot sequence condition and hard disk mode. If the mode and sequence is normal check hard disk condition the hard disk may be affected with using Booth the System from internally the rough fresh bootable Floppy. After booting the system scan the hard disk and hard disk partition tables by using any using Scanner partition Tables many be affected with virus.
After scanning the hard Disk and partition Tables restart the system by using power on and off switch
14. FDISK COMMAND IS NOT WORKING
Check hard disk F Disk Command and Hard Disk partition tables condition Before using the fdisk command Scan the hard disk by using any one scanner after completing the Scanning check hard disk partition by using f disk command. If the after scanning the hard disk also f disk not working check f disk command and hard disk model in COMS setup.
15. FLOPPYS NOT READING BUT NO FDD ERROR
Check Floppy drive condition and CMOS setup FDD reading setup. Check Floppy drive condition the Floppy drive reading head motor may be failure or reading head maybe defective. It the read mother s normal check Floppy drive drums motor the drum motor may be rotating. Check and replace Floppy disk drive, Before replacing the floppy disk drive, Before replacing the floppy drive check CMOS setup Floppy reading address.
16. SET DEAD BUT ALL INDICATORS IS GLOWING
Check mother board supply CPU condition pulse good signals (PG Signals) +5V +12V -5V, -12) P.G Signals and Grounds in this input connections any one supply condition may be absent. If the supply condition is normal check CPU and bus control IC’s the CPU may be internally failure check and replace CPU. Before replacing the CPU Check Bus Control IC’s and memory IC’s.
