Vista problems with iTunes 8
All of us were quite elated about the new version of iTunes, the iTunes 8. Though, for Windows Vista users things don’t seem to be going on well. At the present moment, it does seem that iTunes 8 doesn’t seem to like Vista.
Some users have reported that the moment they plug their iPod blue screens of death (BSOD) appears. Regarding this issue, forums are loaded with complaints and replies, but it does seem that the solution is that a downgrade to iTunes 7.7 fixes this problem.
It has been concluded that the problem seems to center around a driver problem, “GEARAspiWDM.sys” which does allow 3rd party applications to write to the CD and DVD drives. Trouble with this driver was reported earlier too, but then it does seem that this isn’t the only driver with problems in this iTunes situation. In the crash logs, an USB controller driver for Vista appears which makes this problem logic as the iPod is connected via USB.
This problem shall be resolved soon and all shall be relieved with their problems.

in the meantime my vista pc is basically unusable. What a piece of software that was. If I can get a better app that will put the music on my ipod I am finally gonna buy it and ditch &^$*&*&% itunes for good.
