Toshiba has launched 256GB SSD which is 3mm thick
Toshiba has recently announced its latest entry in SSD market with an affordable MLC-based. This SSD has an extremely thin profile of 3mm and via its 2.5-inch SATA-II interface, it has promised to deliver 120/70MBps read/write speed.
Toshiba has further launched a trio of high performance compact flash modules-8GB, 16GB and 32GB which has targeted UMPC, netbook and handheld segment.
Similar to Samsung, the compact memory of Toshiba uses the same SATA II interface in order to reach up to maximum read and write speeds of 80MB and 50MB per second.
Both MLC-based NAND storages intend to appear at CEATEC in Japan. The manufacturer samples are presently available with mass production which are planned for late October 2008.
