China Mobile wants iPhone 3G without 3G. Hey this must be a joke. Apple is been asked by China Mobile to take off the 3G capabilities and the WiFi feature from the iPhone 3G.

As per CNET, China Mobile wants Apple to ship the iPhone disabling the WiFi and 3G chips and this is because of competition.

An own 3G network based on a homegrown Chinese standard for third-generation networks is be scheduled to be obtained by China Mobile. The 3G network fails to be compatible with the widely used W-CDMA standard. China Mobile competitor China Telecom too intends to use this network.

But by eliminating the Wifi feature, the phone becomes inconvenient while traveling.
